Student vs. Employee Access Rules
- General Students: Access Microsoft 365 web applications using your standard student portal login.
- CEBA, Contingents, and Student Employees: You receive an employee A1 License. You must access Microsoft applications strictly through a web browser using your employee single sign-on.
- Full-Time Faculty, Staff, and Adjuncts: While your A3 License allows for desktop installations on personal PCs or Macs, your Chromebook access is also limited to the web interface.
Process for Employees (Faculty, Staff, Adjuncts, Contingents, & Student Employees)
- Open the web browser on your Chromebook.
- Navigate to the MyGRCC Student and Employee Portal (opens in a new window).
- Log in to the portal using your standard GRCC network credentials.
- Locate and select the central Microsoft 365 Single Sign-On tile.
- If prompted by Microsoft to log in, you must sign in using your cloud account string format: username@cloud.grcc.edu (for example: jsmith@cloud.grcc.edu).
Process for General Students (Non-Employees)
- Open the web browser on your Chromebook.
- Navigate to the public Microsoft Office Login portal (opens in a new window).
- Select Sign In.
- Enter your standard GRCC student email address: username@email.grcc.edu (for example: johnsmith@email.grcc.edu) and use your student password.
Storage Policy Reminder (Employees Only) GRCC is a Google Workspace focused institution, and Google Drive remains the official, approved cloud platform for all employee file storage. Because employee web-based OneDrive storage is strictly capped at 1GB, please save your ongoing work directly to Google Drive to prevent running out of space.
