Instructions
Snipping Tool keyboard shortcut
- Press Windows key + Shift + S.
- At the top of the screen, select the type of snip you want to make (e.g. Free-form, Rectangular, Window, or Full-screen).
- Select the area to copy to your clipboard.
- Once selected, a notification will pop-up Clicking this notification will open the screenshot in Snip & Sketch.
- Edit and save the image from Snip & Sketch, or open a separate program in which you can save/edit/paste the image.
- Press Ctrl + V to paste the screenshot (this will include any edits done in Snip & Sketch).
Using other keyboard shortcuts
Whole Screen Capture
- Press the Print Screen key.
- Open a program in which you can save/edit/paste the image.
- Press Ctrl + V or Click Edit > Paste.
Specific Window
- Have the window you need to capture selected.
- Press and hold the Alt + Print Screen.
- Open a program in which you can save/edit/paste the image.
- Press Ctrl + V or Click Edit > Paste.
Capture a scrolling screenshot with Microsoft Edge
- Open Microsoft Edge.
- Go to the webpage you want to capture.
- Press Ctrl + Shift + S on your keyboard to initiate the Web capture panel.
- Click Capture the full page to take a screenshot of the entire web page.
- Click the Save icon in the upper-right.
- In the Downloads pop-up, hover over the file name and click the Show in folder icon to access the file and open it in the desired app for editing.
