Using VMware for Staff Remote access

How do I access on campus resources from off campus, such as the LOA (leave of absence form) or submitting a timesheet?

Information

If you are requesting access to this tool for Online Center/PeopleSoft Access (not including CSProd or FSProd), we do have other tools available to you and would strongly suggest inquiring about these instead of Remote Access. 

This tool should only be used to access CSProd, FSprod, J drives, S drives, the Leave of Absence (LOA) form, or SARS Alert from off campus.

 

Instructions

Accessing VMWare HTML Version (no installation)

  1. Open your preferred web browser.
  2. Navigate to https://mydesktop.grcc.edu.
  3. Select VMware Horizon HTML Access

Connecting to Staff Remote Access (Windows)

  1. Click the Start Menu once the installation process has completed.
  2. Search for VMware
  3. Select the VMWare Horizon View Client menu option. This will launch the applicatio.
  4. Click New Server.
  5. Verify that mydesktop.grcc.edu is in the Connection Server field.
  6. Click the Connect button.
  7. Enter your MyGRCC Login Information into the Username and Password fields
  8. Click the Login button.
  9. A one-time-passcode will be sent to the Multi-factor delivery method set in MyGRCC, change default method
  10. Select the Staff Remote option. A new window will open and connect you to the virtual desktop.

 

Connecting to Staff Remote Access (OS X)

  1. Open the Applications directory.
  2. Double-click on VMWare Horizon View Client.
  3. Verify that mydesktop.grcc.edu is in the Connection Server field.
  4. Click the Connect button.
  5. Enter your MyGRCC Login Information into the Username and Password fields.
  6. Click the Login button.
  7. A one-time-passcode will be sent to the Multi-factor delivery method set in MyGRCC, change default method
  8. Select the Staff Remote option. A new window will open and connect you to the virtual desktop.

 

Connecting to Staff Remote Access (iOS)

  1. Download VMware Horizon from the App Store.
  2. Open the application and enter mydesktop.grcc.edu for the server.
  3. Connect to the newly created server using your MyGRCC Login information
  4. A one-time-passcode will be sent to the Multi-factor delivery method set in MyGRCC, change default method
  5. Tap the Staff Remote option

 

Connecting to Staff Remote Access (Android)

  1. Download VMware Horizon from the Play Store.
  2. Open the application and enter mydesktop.grcc.edu for the server.
  3. Connect to the newly created server using your MyGRCC Login information
  4. A one-time-passcode will be sent to the Multi-factor delivery method set in MyGRCC, change default method
  5. Tap the Staff Remote option
