GRAND RAPIDS COMMUNITY COLLEGE AUTOMOTIVE VEHICLE REPAIR CONSENT/DISCLAIMER
NOTICE: Grand Rapids Community College (“GRCC”) accepts automotive repair jobs for training purposes only on vehicles no older than ten (10) model years. GRCC is not a commercial automotive facility or a commercial repair facility. The time required to repair vehicles in a training situation may be longer than a commercial repair facility All automotive maintenance and/or repairs performed at GRCC is performed by students, supervised by GRCC employees with appropriate credentials, for learning and for educational purposes only. GRCC reserves the right to refuse to perform automotive maintenance and/or repair work that does not meet instructional or educational purposes. Your consent, as the registered owner or driver of the automobile identified below, acknowledges the instructional status of GRCC' s facility and constitutes agreement to the terms and conditions set forth herein.
PAYMENT: Customers are responsible for remitting payment for cost of all installed parts. Additionally, a ten ($10) dollar shop charge may be applied to every repair order written for customer vehicles to cover shop supplies and hazardous material disposal. GRCC accepts cash, checks (payable to GRCC) and credit/debit cards (Visa, MasterCard, Discover). Full payment is required prior to the release of your vehicle.
CONSENT: By signing this document, you hereby agree and affirm that you are the registered legal owner or driver of the vehicle identified below and further consent to, and authorize the repair of, your vehicle by GRCC students for training purposes. By signing this document, you hereby grant permission to operate the vehicle as necessary for the purposes of testing, repair and/or inspection including on road driving tests.
GRCC instructors will make every effort to ensure that work is completed in accordance with commercial standards. However, by signing below, you are affirming that you understand and agree that no warranty nor guaranty – including, without limitation, any express or implied warranty or guarantee of fitness for a particular purpose or merchantability - is given for the work completed. You further agree that all to assume all risks of damage to your vehicle and any other personal property contained within said vehicle that may result from any repair, maintenance or service performed by GRCC or any student. You further agree to be responsible for loss or damage to the vehicle or articles left in the vehicle in case of fire, theft, or damage while the vehicle is on GRCC premises.
RELEASE OF LIABILITY: On behalf of myself, my heirs, assigns and representatives, I hereby release and forever discharge Grand Rapids Community College and its past, present and future officers, directors, trustees, employees, students, boards, agents, representatives and insurers, from and against any and all liabilities, losses, damages, costs, claims, demands and/or causes of action resulting from, or in any way arising out of, any maintenance, repair or other work performed on the vehicle identified below by GRCC (including, without limitation, its employees, students, agents and/or representatives).
