Searching for Math (MTH) Courses Without Corequisites
Question
How do I search for Math (MTH) classes that do not require a corequisite?
Information
Many Math courses offer two versions: a standalone version and a version that requires a corequisite course. If you have placed into a standalone math course, the system will prevent you from enrolling in a section that requires a corequisite.
Answer
Follow these steps to filter your search for Math sections that do not require a corequisite:
- Log into your MyGRCC account and select the Online Center tile.
- Select the Add/Drop Classes tile.
- Select Class Search and Enroll and choose the appropriate term.
- In the search bar, type MTH followed by a space and the three-digit course number (e.g., "MA 115"), then click the search arrow. Note: Do not click on the course results yet.
- Before selecting a specific course from the results, look at the filter menu located on the left-hand side of the screen.
- Scroll down the left-hand menu until you find the Class Attribute section.
- Check the box labeled MATH/MA *** Only. This filter removes all sections that require a corequisite.
- The number of available class options will decrease. You can now click on the course results to select and enroll in a standalone section.
