The Omnissa Horizon client is available for free download to all faculty, staff, and students. This software allows you to connect to GRCC campus resources while off campus using a secure connection. Based on your role at the college, there are different pools available for you to join:
- Staff and Faculty: Can access the Staff Remote pool to reach systems only available on campus, including time sheets and leave of absence forms.
- Students: Can access the Student Virtual Lab pool (basic campus software) and the ATC Open Lab pool (specialized/robust software).

Installing on a College-Owned Machine
Note: This section is not applicable for student loaner laptops.
- Open the Software Center. For detailed steps, see the article: Accessing the Software Center (opens in new window).
- Select Omnissa Horizon Client from the applications list.
- Click the Install button (located in the lower right-hand corner of the window).
- The installation process will take several minutes.
- Note: If you are off-campus, the PaloAlto GlobalProtect VPN must be connected before accessing the Software Center.
Installing on a Personal Device

- Go to mydesktop.grcc.edu (opens in new window).
- Click the link to download the Horizon Client.
- Locate the product named Horizon Clients.
