How to enroll in MA classes with a corequisite?

Enrolling in Math (MA) Courses with a Corequisite

Question

How do I enroll in Math (MA) classes that require a corequisite course?

Environment

  • GRCC Online Center

Information

Some Math (MA) courses are designed to be taken alongside a mandatory support course, known as a corequisite. If your placement requires a corequisite, the system will prevent you from enrolling in a standalone section. You must add both the specific math lecture and its designated support section to your shopping cart to complete enrollment.

Answer

Follow these steps to identify and enroll in a Math course with its required corequisite:

  1. Log into your MyGRCC account and select the Online Center tile.
  2. Select the Add/Drop Classes tile.
  3. Select Class Search and Enroll and choose the appropriate term.
  4. In the search bar, type MA followed by a space and the three-digit course number (e.g., "MA 107") and click the search arrow.
  5. Select the correct MA course from the results to view available sections.
  6. Click the Lecture link (e.g., "Lecture - 1234") to open the Class Details window.
  7. In the pop-up window, select the Enrollment Information tab.
  8. Look for the Corequisite requirement note. It will list a specific four-digit section number for the required support class. Note this four-digit number.
  9. Follow the prompts to add the first class to your shopping cart.
  10. Repeat the search process using the four-digit section number you noted to find the exact corequisite support section.
  11. Add the corequisite section to your shopping cart.
  12. Navigate to your Shopping Cart and select both classes, then click Enroll to finalize the process.
