Question
What do I do with the Academic Probation hold?
Environment
- Office of the Registrar (formerly Student Records): 616-234-3300
Information
Grand Rapids Community College (GRCC) requires all credit-seeking students to maintain good academic standing to ensure continued progress toward their educational goals. Academic standing is officially reviewed at the end of each semester of enrollment once final grades are posted.
Answer
The Academic Probation status is an informational hold. Please note the following regarding this hold:
- Registration: This specific hold does not prevent you from registering for future classes.
- Removal: The hold is automatically removed from your account once your cumulative GPA reaches at least a 2.0.
- Support: While you can still register, we highly recommend meeting with an Academic Advisor to create a plan for returning to good academic standing.
