Verifying Audit Status for a Class
Question
Where can I see if I am auditing a class?
Information
Students may choose to receive an audit grade of "V" for classes in which they enroll. Auditing a class allows for personal exploration or gaining insight into a new subject without the pressure of a traditional grade.
Key Points About Auditing:
- Participation: Students pay full tuition and are expected to participate in class activities, though tests and term papers are voluntary.
- Credits: Audit status does not count toward full-time enrollment or graduation requirements.
- Transcripts: The course will still appear on your official student transcript with the "V" grade.
Answer
To verify if a class is officially set to audit status, follow these steps:
- Log into the MyGRCC Portal (opens in a new window).
- Select the GRCC Online Center application tile.
- Select the Add/Drop Classes tile.
- Click the View My Classes link from the navigation menu.
- Locate the specific course and look under the Grading Basis column. If the status is correct, it will display Audit.
