Understanding Math Course Placement (ALEKS)
Question
Which math course am I placed into based on my ALEKS score?
Information
All students are required to take the ALEKS assessment. Exception: You are exempt if you have successfully completed a qualifying college-level math course within the last 12 months that fulfills the prerequisite for your desired class.
ALEKS is a math assessment tool designed to ensure you enroll in a course that matches your existing skill set. This assessment helps you avoid taking unnecessary courses and identifies if you can skip math classes not required for your degree.
How to Access ALEKS
To access your ALEKS account online:
- Log in to the MyGRCC portal.
- Select the Online Center tile.
- Select the Test Placement tab.
On-Campus Testing
If you prefer to use the GRCC Testing Center, we accept both walk-ins and scheduled appointments. A valid photo ID is strictly required to take the assessment.
