Why can’t I sign up for a math class?

Before you are able to register for a math course at GRCC, you must fulfill one of the following placement requirements:

• Prerequisites: You must have successfully completed a qualifying college-level math course within the last 12 months.
• ALEKS Math Placement Test: If you have not met the prerequisite through previous coursework, you must take the ALEKS placement assessment.

Troubleshooting Your Registration

If you have already taken a math course or the placement test but still cannot register, please verify the following:

• Expiration Date: ALEKS scores and math prerequisites are valid for 12 months. If your score or previous course was completed more than a year ago, you may need to retest.
• Minimum Score Requirements: Ensure your ALEKS score meets the specific Math Pathways score requirements for the course you are trying to join.
• Processing Time: It can take up to 24 hours for a new test score to sync with the Online Center registration system.
