How does the waitlist work?

How the Course Waitlist Works

Question

How does the course waitlist work?

Environment

  • Admissions & Student Services (formerly Enrollment Center)

Information

Joining a course waitlist does not guarantee registration in the class. However, if a seat becomes available and you are next on the list, the registration process happens automatically.

Answer

If a course section is waitlisted and you are the first person on the list, you will be automatically enrolled as soon as a seat becomes available. It is important to monitor your status closely because the enrollment triggers a payment deadline.

Tuition and Payment

  • Deadlines: If you are automatically enrolled after the general tuition due date has passed, you have until midnight on the day of enrollment to pay your tuition bill.
  • Consequences of Non-Payment: If payment is not received by the midnight deadline, you will be dropped from the class, and the seat will be offered to the next person on the course waitlist.

Notifications

If you are enrolled from the course waitlist, you will receive an email to your GRCC student account. This email serves as a reminder to pay your tuition bill by midnight of that same day to secure your seat in the class.
