Answer

To add or update your Social Security Number on your student record (required for financial aid and 1098-T tax reporting), you must provide official documentation to verify your identity.

Required Documentation

Please provide both of the following items:

  • Social Security Card: A copy of your signed social security card.
    • Note: For students aged 17 and younger, the card does not have to be signed.
  • Government-Issued Photo ID: A copy of a valid driver’s license, state ID, passport, or permanent residency card.

Methods of Submission

You may submit your documentation using one of the following secure methods:

  1. Online Center (Recommended):
    • Log into your MyGRCC account.
    • Select the Academic Records tile.
    • Click the Send files to Student Records link to upload your documents securely.
  2. In-Person:
    • Visit the Student Services desk on the first floor of Raleigh J. Finkelstein (RJF) Hall.
  3. Email:
    • Send scanned copies to the Registrar's office. While personal email is accepted, using your official GRCC student email account is preferred for security and identity verification.
