Information

Enrolled students can register for classes online through their student account. Students need their ID numbers to create their accounts or to look up their username. To obtain your ID number, call Admissions & Student Services at 616-234-3300.

Follow these steps to register for your courses:

  1. To access your online accounts, log into the MyGRCC Portal. If you have trouble signing in, call Information Technology at (616) 234-4357.
  2. Select the GRCC Online Center tile.
  3. Select the Add/Drop Classes tile on the Online Center homepage.
  4. Select Class Search and Enroll, then choose the appropriate semester.
  5. To search for specific classes, type the subject prefix and course number (e.g., "EN 101") in the field under Search for Classes and click the arrow or press "Enter." You can also search by subject name (e.g., "Psychology") to see all offerings.
  6. Filtering Results: Use the menu on the left to filter your search. For example, select Online under the Instruction Mode section to view distance learning options. If a course is full but offers a waitlist, a Wait List option will appear. For more details, visit the GRCC Waitlist information page.
  7. Reviewing Sections: Check the Status and Seats columns for availability.
    • Room Column: Indicates class mode ("Online Course," "Virtual Classroom," or a specific building/room for in-person).
    • Hybrid: Indicates a mix of in-person and online instruction.
    • Meeting Dates/Times: Shows when sections meet (Online sections will state "To be Announced").
  8. Class Details: Click the blue hyperlink (e.g., "Lecture" or "Laboratory") for more information.
    • Use the Class Details tab for credit hours and enrollment deadlines.
    • Use the Enrollment Information tab for prerequisites or restrictions.
    • Click the X in the upper right corner to close the details window.
  9. After closing the details, click the arrow at the far right of the section you want to join.
  10. Click the Accept button. Note: If you are trying to join a waitlist for a full class, change the selection from "No" to "Yes" at this step.
  11. Click the Submit button. Important: You are not yet enrolled at this stage.
  12. Click Shopping Cart in the left-hand menu.
  13. To complete enrollment, check the box next to each course in your cart and click the Enroll button in the upper right corner.
