Culture Corps is a learning and internship program based out of the Arts Initiative at the University of Michigan, partnering with GRCC and other community colleges through the Transfer Bridges program.
- The goals of Culture Corps are to encourage and expose any students interested in arts and humanities majors to career pathways, to encourage students who might not know how to get started in arts and culture careers, and to support a breadth of Michigan art and culture organizations with a consistent group of paid students.
- Culture Corps interns do not need to have formal art experience – they have worked on web development, event planning, marketing and communications, grantmaking, even developing an interactive map! The great thing about Culture Corps is that students get to decide with their placement organization what they want to do as an intern.
- A 3-session mini-course takes place in late April, followed by a paid ($18/hr for approx. 20 hours/wk) internship at local arts and culture organizations from early to mid-May through mid-August 2024. The application is now open, and closes February 29th.
