Placement Testing helps GRCC assess the student sills in reading, writing and math.

Who needs to take the test?

Students are required to take our English placement test for enrollment if any of the following apply:

• SAT was taken before February 2016
• ACT scores don't expire, however, beginning Fall 2025, the ACT will no longer be accepted for English placement.
• GRCC's placement test was taken previously, prior to October 2018, and they haven't previously taken and passed English (EN) 101
• Transferred in few than 12 college credits and/or college GPA is below 2.0

Students MUST take the ALEKS Math Placement test before enrolling in math course if:

• Their ALEKS scores are older then 18 months -OR-
• They haven't previously taken or transferred in a math class within the past three years.
