In March, the AGC membership voted to approve a change to the Dual Enrollment policy. The revised policy removes the requirement of a 2.5 GPA for high school students enrolling in GRCC classes. Removing the GPA requirement meets GRCC's mission of open access and supports GRCC's goals of equity and community impact.
The revised policy reads as follows:
"Grand Rapids Community College provides collegiate education opportunities via dual enrollment, concurrent enrollment, and/or early/middle college for high school students who meet both the State of Michigan and college admissions criteria.
High school student applicants must:
- Be enrolled in at least 1 high school class and pursuing a high school diploma in a public school district, state approved non public school, or home school.
- Have approval from student's high school administration and parent/guardian.
- Meet GRCC prerequisites for courses."
