Name Change Information
A preferred name may be used by a student who prefers to use a name other than their legal name throughout their time at GRCC. The process to request a name change is different than requesting a legal name change and must be done directly with Student Records.

IMPORTANT: Unfortunately, you do not qualify to have your account named updated.

Name changes must occur through the Student Records Department (Students) or HR Department (Staff and Faculty) before we can process a name change.

Student Name Changes:
A student name can be changed with a driver's license or state ID and court decree, marriage certificate or certificate of naturalization. You can upload this in your Online Center account. Navigate to the Academic Records tile, click "Send files to Student Records" this is the second link from the bottom.

Employees/student workers must email hr@grcc.edu to update your name.
Name Change Scheduling Information
Name changes are performed at 8:00 AM on business days, however if requested after 9pm we are unable to guarantee it will be processed the following morning.

While the name change is being performed you will need to remain logged out of all GRCC accounts until your new username is communicated to your preferred contact information provided below. Your password will not be changed during this process.
