What happens to my canvas course when the class ends?

Answer
When a course reaches its end date, Canvas automatically updates all enrollments to Completed / Concluded, and the course is placed in a read-only state. Instructors are given a 7-day grace period after the course end date to make final updates, such as grading and completing other end-of-term tasks. After this period, the course will remain read-only.
Students may still be able to access concluded courses by navigating to Courses > All Courses. If a course is not clickable, the instructor has restricted access after the end date. For questions about course access or content, please contact your instructor. Instructors will always retain read-only access to their courses until the course is archived.
Courses remain available in Canvas for up to 2 years. After this period, Canvas administrators will begin archiving older courses.
