Windows 11 and GRCC Secure Wireless

Summary

In short, in order for GRCC devices to connect to the Enterprise GRCC Secure, Windows Credential Guard needs to be disabled.

Information

The newest Windows 11 24H2 has a feature enabled by default and enforced that was not applied in earlier versions of Windows 11. That feature is called Credential Guard. It only allows trusted wireless networks from connecting to devices.

 

Environment

  • Windows 11
  • GRCC mobile laptops
  • GRCC Secure enterprise

 

Process

  1. Open up Control Panel
  2. Click on System and Security
  3. Click on Configuration ManagerUploaded Image (Thumbnail)
  4. Click on the Configurations tab
  5. Click on Disable Credential Guard Baseline option
  6. Click on Evaluate
  7. Once the Baseline goes to Compliant, Restart
  8. Remove Docking Station and test connecting to the GRCC Secure WiFi network
