The Director of Curriculum Management is responsible for the functional design, development, and maintenance of GRCC’s curriculum management system.  This position is also responsible for providing operational support to other College units with regard to multiple campus systems that integrate with the curriculum management system.  The Director of Curriculum Management works collaboratively within the Instructional Support unit and among various academic and student affairs departments to provide relevant support and knowledge to faculty and staff across the college. This position reports directly to the Associate Provost, Instructional Support & Institutional Planning.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Lead the operations to support the Acalog Academic Catalog Management System, including but not limited to configuring system set up, managing security access, maintaining and running systems integration, managing workflow, and conducting data analyses, as needed

  • Ensure the accuracy and timeliness of the annual production of the GRCC online Academic Catalog and Curriculum Database by maintaining operations to facilitate curriculum development

  • Establish the workflows which support the curriculum operations processes in alignment with best practices

  • Ensure the appropriate approval of changes to the GRCC online Academic Catalog and Curriculum Database

  • Maintain the annual curriculum development calendar in collaboration with Instructional Support staff.  Communicate and publish curriculum development calendar and due dates

  • Develop the functional and procedural materials for new and existing curriculum operations systems

  • Collaborate with Instructional Support staff to provide training for new and existing curriculum management systems

  • Collaborate with Instructional Support staff and Student Records, Academic Department, and Associate Deans’ Offices to manage the processes that maintain accurate course and program information in the online Academic Catalog and Curriculum Database

  • Collaborate with the Student Records Office to ensure prerequisites, co-requisites, course descriptions and registration permissions are consistent across all curriculum management and information systems

  • Maintain the records of curriculum-related teams and/or committees

  • Serve as GRCC’s primary contact with the curriculum management system software vendor and Instructional Support’s liaison to GRCC’s Information Technology department to ensure system continuity

  • Maintain the five-year course revision schedule and review the schedule annually with Academic Departments.  Communicate schedule updates to School Deans’ Offices and Instructional Support staff.  Collaborate with these stakeholders to ensure the course revision schedule aligns to the Academic Program Review schedule and program accreditation timelines

  • Monitor all program discontinuations and collaborate with Instructional Support staff and Academic Department, Student Records, and Associate Deans’ Offices to ensure the completion of program discontinuation processes according to established timelines

  • Collaborate with academic and student affairs units to maintain accurate policy information within the online Academic Catalog

  • Assign new course numbers, appropriate ACS codes, and account numbers to all new course proposals

  • Research new course prefixes at the request of Academic Departments

  • Collaborate, as requested, with the Institutional Research Office on reporting related to curriculum operations

  • Collaborate, as requested, with the Communications Department and Web Team to support the accuracy of curriculum information on the College webpage

  • Serve as an Instructional Support Web Content editor

  • Communicate regularly with and provide updates to the Associate Provost of Instructional Support & Institutional Planning

  • Represent the curriculum management role on committees and teams as directed by the Associate Provost of Instructional Support & Institutional Planning

  • Regular attendance during normal scheduled hours is required. Being present is essential for serving customers and performing the essential functions of this position

JOB SPECIFICATIONS

Educational Credentials

  • Bachelor’s degree required

  • Master’s degree preferred

Work Experience

  • Three to five years community college experience required

  • Community college experience in a faculty, registrar, curriculum, or other associated role preferred

  • High level of computer literacy, technological proficiency, and database management skills

  • Collaborative problem-solving skills
