The role of the Automation Network & Lab Administrator is to implement, maintain and coordinate all technical aspects of the School of Workforce training labs. This includes the Makers Lab, Electronics and Automation Labs, Automotive, and Artificial Intelligence labs. This position reports to the Information Technology department, but will be in direct contact with the School of Workforce Training.
This position is responsible for implementing a network solution for PLC Trainers and robotics under the direction of the IT Infrastructure Department. This position will be responsible for configuring computers for the Intel / Dell AI grant under the direction of the IT Customer Support Department.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Support and maintain Robotics Automation Labs, Intel AI Lab, Makers lab, and other labs as needed
-
Provide technical support as requested by faculty and/or students engaged in robotics, automation, 3D printing and/or artificial intelligence research

This position will also support in the implementation of curriculum and related activities as requested by faculty
-
Support maintaining and upgrading academic instructional laboratory systems related to robotics, automation, 3D printing and/or artificial intelligence

Will include support for robotic arms, PLCs, misc.

Industrial automation equipment, laboratory control system and artificial intelligence equipment, laboratory data acquisition, relevant software/computer systems as well as establishing written procedures for maintenance, calibration, and use of such laboratory equipment

Implement and maintain network configurations for robotics and automation labs under close supervision from IT Infrastructure

Provide technical input to the overall architectural and operational discussions around network automation infrastructure and tools

Work with faculty to determine requirements for automation network design and implementation

Conduct research, design and implementation of Network Infrastructure Automation solutions and build standard practices across assigned labs

Work closely with department leadership and service providers to support alignment of plans with solution delivery

Participate in and suggest improvements to standards configuration, change management processes and practices

Regular attendance during normal scheduled hours is required. Being present is essential for serving customers and performing the essential functions of this position

JOB SPECIFICATIONS
Educational Credentials

Bachelor's degree preferred

Cisco CCNA Certification preferred

Comptia A+ Certification preferred

Intel Edge AI Certification preferred but not required
Work Experience

Experience in researching emerging technologies and trends, standards, and products and synthesizing into clear technology roadmaps and strategies

Demonstrated experience in delivering written documents detailing network solutions and diagrams
