Body

The Network Team Manager is responsible for managing the efforts of the Network Team along with the design, implementation and maintenance of the College data networks.  This includes the physical layout, the routing and application layers across the network using industry standard firewalls and load balancing.  Also, they will coordinate tasks and workload of those assigned to the Network Team and manage assigned projects.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Coordinate and assign work to team members to accomplish assigned tasks

  • Complete Performance Evaluations for team members

  • Manage projects assigned to the Network Team

  • Establish networking environments by designing system configurations and directing system installations

  • Maintain IP Addresses

  • Maximize performance by troubleshooting network problems and outages and scheduling upgrades

  • Configure and maintain Layer 3-7 devices/solutions

  • Define, Document and enforce system standards

  • Secure network systems by establishing and enforcing policies and defining and monitoring access (i.e. Firewall/Load Balancer/802.1x) 

  • Design / implement / Maintain load balancing environments (i.e. F5 )

  • Work with Technology Staff, project managers and customers to evaluate, find and recommend technology solutions for GRCC

  • Utility scripts to enhance/automate job functions

  • 24/7 on-call support of any infrastructure systems

  • Regular attendance during normal scheduled hours is required. Being present is essential for serving customers and performing the essential functions of this position

  • Performs other related duties as assigned


JOB SPECIFICATIONS

Educational Credentials

  • BA in computer science, information technology, engineering, or related field

Work Experience

  • Five or more years experience in network administration

  • Load Balancer Design, Deploy, and Administrate- Deploying iRules, providing secure access, managing certificates and maintaining current and relevant web presents. ( F5 experience preferred )

  • Firewall Design, Deploy, and Administrate- Write policy, Audit Policy and evaluate end to end connectivity. Securing our clients and servers traffic to provide a zero-trust environment. ( Palo Alto experience preferred )

  • Routing and Switching- HSRP, EIGRP, Static, VDC, VPC, MLAG, BGP and Spanning-Tree

  • Network Access Control Design, Deploy, and Administrate- Deploying DaCLs to Wireless controllers and Switch Ports. ( ISE/Clearpass experience preferred )

  • Wireless Design, Deploy, and Administrate ( Cisco/ Aruba Controllers experience preferred )

Physical Demands

  • Must be able to lift up to seventy-five (75) pounds
