The Director of Transfer & Articulation Services will provide technical expertise and support to faculty developing Pre-Major, Pre-Professional, and articulated programs to ensure seamless transfer and articulation from GRCC to four-year colleges and universities.  The Director is a member of the Instructional Support Team and serves as the primary liaison between GRCC and other institutions to establish transferability of GRCC courses and programs and will assist College stakeholders in these efforts. The Director of Transfer & Articulation Services will work cooperatively with other GRCC offices to track articulation agreements and stay current with statewide transfer and articulation policies and legislation.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Serve as the primary liaison between GRCC, four-year institutions, and other entities, as appropriate, to establish and maintain the transferability of GRCC courses

  • Serve as the primary liaison between GRCC, four-year institutions, and other entities, as appropriate, to support faculty in developing and maintaining articulated transfer programs, including MiTransfer Pathway programs

  • Provide technical expertise and support to faculty in developing and revising Pre-Major, Pre-Professional, and articulated programs that ensure transferability of student credit to four-year partner institutions in alignment with relevant GRCC policies and institutional practices/processes

  • Coordinate and communicate with internal and external stakeholders to formalize institutional articulation agreements, articulated programs, and memoranda of understanding to facilitate seamless transfer opportunities for GRCC students.  This includes the signing and promotion of articulation agreements

  • Collaborate with the Instructional Support Team and appropriate bodies (General Education Review and Curriculum Approval Teams) to develop instructional guidelines and resource materials related to transfer curriculum development

  • Collaborate with departments across the College, as appropriate, to develop and/or maintain resources to support a seamless transfer experience for students, including but not limited to the following: departmental webpages and marketing materials, College Catalog information, advising guides, and recruitment materials

  • Utilize reporting tools in the Michigan Transfer Network to evaluate transfer programs, agreements, and initiatives

  • Collaborate with Curriculum Specialist, faculty, and School Deans’ Offices to facilitate the Academic Program Review of transfer programs

  • Develop and utilize processes in Curriculog (curriculum management system) to facilitate the development and review of transfer programs

  • Research and benchmark curriculum at 4-year institutions to ensure quality and transferability of GRCC courses and programs

  • Research and benchmark curriculum at 2-year institutions to ensure quality and measure best practices as related to GRCC courses and programs, including general education/MTA courses and other courses/programs intended for transfer

  • Provide expertise and support to faculty and staff in the development and maintenance of transfer-related policies

  • Maintain current knowledge of statewide transfer and articulation initiatives, policies, and legislation

  • Provide technical expertise and support articulation of high school and technical center coursework through working with faculty, Student Records, and secondary and post-secondary institutions, as appropriate

  • Maintain high school articulation agreements and related forms and/or processes

  • Develop and maintain working relationships with primary contacts at area school districts, technical centers, and colleges/universities

  • Assist GRCC faculty and staff in identifying strategic opportunities to develop and align curriculum with four-year institutions, as appropriate

  • Serve as a member of the General Education Review and Curriculum Approval Teams, in addition to appropriate GRCC college-wide committees and College Action Project Teams

  • Maintain the GRCC Transfer & Articulation website

  • Provide support to faculty to establish transfer equivalencies for courses

  • Gather, analyze, and report on data related to transfer curriculum performance indicators, as appropriate and requested

  • Research and analyze national trends and initiatives pertaining to transfer curriculum and programs, including transfer pathways

  • Serve on statewide transfer committees, as appropriate

  • Produce reports providing pertinent data and information related to transfer curriculum and articulation agreements and present these reports to college entities as appropriate, needed, and requested

  • Follow established procedures related to environmental scanning in assisting with new transfer program proposals, facilitating general education course review, and collaborating with appropriate College personnel to discontinue transfer programs, as appropriate

  • Provide resources, training, and support regarding transfer and articulation activities to College stakeholders, as appropriate

  • Collaborate with IS staff to administer annual Curriculum Processes and Academic Program Review surveys to faculty

  • Carry out assigned duties in a collaborative, team-oriented manner

  • Participate in strategy and planning sessions in Instructional Support

  • Coordinate with the Center for Teaching Excellence Faculty Director to provide training and support to faculty, as appropriate, with regards to transfer and articulation

  • Communicate progress on transfer and articulation services and initiatives to the Dean of Instructional Support

  • Regular attendance during normal scheduled hours is required. Being present is essential for serving customers and performing the essential functions of this position

JOB SPECIFICATIONS

Educational Credentials

  • Master’s Degree required

  • National Career Readiness Certificate preferred

Work Experience

  • Three years of experience in higher education in any of the following areas: transfer and articulation, curriculum development, student advising, Registrar’s Office, or other associated roles

  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with internal and external stakeholders

  • Demonstrated ability to support faculty in developing transfer curricula for the diverse GRCC student population

Working Conditions
