GRCC’s Applied Technology Department is seeking an adjunct instructor in Electronics and Electrical Controls. Candidates must possess an interest in working with diverse student populations from a wide range of age, ethnicity, national origin and ability; engage in and develop innovative teaching strategies and effectively assess student learning outcomes. We are interested in candidates who have demonstrated a commitment to excellence by providing leadership in teaching and service toward building an equitable and diverse scholarly environment.
Adjunct faculty members are responsible to GRCC and to each other for the successful completion of departmental work as well as work associated with the School of Business and Industry and GRCC as a whole. In an environment where innovation is valued, each adjunct faculty member will take responsibility to perform their work in a manner consistent with both the letter and the spirit of GRCC values.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Teach GRCC course offering(s) in Electronics and Electrical Controls
- Teach courses and fulfill adjunct faculty responsibilities, including fostering a stimulating classroom environment, following syllabus templates, and using department-approved textbooks.
- Maintain accurate student records and provide reasonable accommodations as per ADA guidelines as approved by Disability Support Services to meet student’s needs.
- Respond to communications promptly and ensure student access to course information.
- Perform tasks normally expected of adjunct faculty members
- Follow the required syllabus template.
- Comply with GRCC policies and the Faculty Association Contract.
JOB SPECIFICATIONS
Qualifications
- Bachelors’ degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited institution required.
- Master’s degree in related field from an accredited institution preferred.
- Teaching experience at a community college preferred.
Skills
- Expertise in electric and electronic components, controls, Ohms and Watts Law, passive and active components, circuits and industry standard equipment.
- Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to present and implement complex ideas and concepts from lecture to lab application.
- Ability to work with diverse student populations and faculty, and proficiency in instructional technology and learning management systems (e.g.,Gmail, Canvas, Blackboard).
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Physical Demands
- Some evening work (grading, preparing for class, responding to email questions) will be needed.
- Must be able to sit or stand for long periods of time.
