The Employee Events, Engagement & Onboarding Coordinator provides leadership in the design and redesign of programs offered. This position will oversee and implement programs through the Human Resources/Staff Development office that are consistent and aligned with the College's mission, vision, values and professional development strategies to create a sense of belonging for GRCC employees. This position will coordinate appreciation events and engagement activities such as recognition, new employee on-boarding, mentorship program, and employee events on campus.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Onboarding & Offboarding Activities

  • Coordinate the New Employee On-boarding and Orientation process.
    • Assist with completion of new hire paperwork.
    • Organize onboarding events with campus partners.
    • Maintain up-to-date resources
    • Gather feedback and use data received to improve the onboarding process.
  • Conduct the offboarding process for separating employees
    • Coordinate knowledge loss prevention process with employee and supervisor
    • Conduct exit interviews
    • Gather and consolidate data to share with HR leadership.
    • Bring forward any immediate concerns that should be addressed.

Engagement & Recognition

  • Coordinate the ongoing engagement program for new employees.
  • Chair the GRCC Employee Wellness and Enrichment Team. Coordinate and implement activities, recruit team members and conduct annual evaluation.
  • Develop and coordinate college employee recognition systems which includes formal and informal rewards and recognitions. Examples: Excellence in Education, Years of Service recognition, Retirement recognition.
  • Research, develop and deliver learning resources for wellness and enrichment programs.
  • Coordinate retiree relations including quarterly meetings, newsletters (Fall/Winter/Summer), maintain retiree directory, keeping addresses and emails up-to-date and sending communications when needed.
  • Organize employee events for GRCC. Examples: holiday breakfast, employee recognition luncheon/program, golden retiree reception and other various employee appreciation events.
  • Collect and analyze data related to wellness and employee events, and recognition opportunities to identify process improvement opportunities.

Professional Development

  • Develop & coordinate professional development activities, working with internal and external partners.
  • Collect and analyze data related to wellness and employee events, and recognition opportunities to identify process improvement opportunities.
  • Create ways in which to seek feedback and recommendations from employees for requested professional development.
  • Assist with managing eLearning software, including developing engagement communications. .
  • Make recommendations to the Associate Director of Human Resources on learning opportunities in an effort to meet individual, departmental and institutional needs.

  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Regular attendance during normal scheduled hours is required. Being present is essential for serving customers and performing the essential functions of this position.

JOB SPECIFICATIONS

Education Credentials

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or related field required.

Work Experience

  • Minimum two years related experience in recognition and event coordination.
  • Minimum two years related experience in development and implementation of professional development activities.

Physical Demands

  • Ability to lift and move equipment to support major campus events (20-30 lbs).
  • Ability to move around campus for onboarding and other events.
