ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Manage budgets, accounting and reporting of financial activity for all Tassell MTEC programs, Michigan New Job Training grants and other Workforce Training grants.
- Prepare and/or approve financial transactions for all Workforce Training departments and grants in compliance with external regulations and designated budget (includes journal entries, budget transfers fund transfers, invoices, payment requests, purchase requisitions, grant cash requests/invoices).
- Compile, analyze and report financial information to help produce and maintain forecasts and economic condition; present illustrations of information through spreadsheets, charts and graphs.
- Process Pro Card Reports Timely for multiple departments and grants under Workforce Training.
- Budget Control Officer (backup to the Director) for Job Training, Construction Trades Apprentice, Tassell M-TEC and all other Workforce Training grants.
- Obtain required knowledge of both Workforce Training and the College’s Enterprise Resource Planning software to facilitate efficient and accurate interfacing of financial activity.
- Develop and maintain building partnership agreements including leases and related invoicing.
- Stay updated regarding federal state, local and district statutes, policies, regulations and procedures concerning Workforce Training departments and grants.
- Provide guidance and direction to less experienced administrative professional and non-technical employees.
- Coordinate and participate in special projects related to Tassell MTEC as assigned.
- Regular attendance during normal scheduled hours is required. Being present is essential for serving customers and performing the essential functions of this position.
JOB SPECIFICATIONS
Education Credentials
- Bachelor's Degree in finance, accounting, or a related field required
Work Experience
- Five years of successful experience supervising staff, and overall management skills necessary to operate a self-funded entity
- Proven communication and organizational skills including computer skills using Microsoft Office, Internet, PeopleSoft. 25Live, Cisco Finesse, Continuity Spectrum, Perceptive Content, Acuity, and Google Suite.
