Issue
When attempting to start an ALEKS or WebAssign test on certain lab computers, the LockDown Browser OEM client fails to launch correctly. Symptoms include:
- The LockDown Browser splash screen appears and then disappears.
- Clicking the test link provides no visual feedback or error message.
- The browser never opens the testing environment.
Environment
- Software: Respondus LockDown Browser OEM
- Platforms: ALEKS, Cengage WebAssign
- Hardware: GRCC Lab Computers
Information
LockDown Browser "OEM" is a specific version of Respondus software required by third-party platforms like ALEKS. If the software is missing, ALEKS typically provides a download link. However, standard lab computers in LRC 110 and LRC 200 do not currently have this software installed and cannot be used for these specific tests.
Note: Lab hours and availability are subject to change. Please verify current hours on the GRCC website before visiting a lab.
