Quick troubleshooting tips if nothing will display on a classroom projector.

Issue

A classroom projector is not displaying anything or is not showing the intended source from the multimedia rack/podium.

Resolution

  1. Reboot the computer if the projector output differs from the instructor monitor.
  2. Check if the projector is powered on. Look for light from the lens (do not look directly into the light).
    • If there is no light, toggle the Display OFF and ON. It may take a few minutes to warm up or cool down.
  3. Ensure the AV MUTE button is not active.
  4. Look for a solid green indicator light on the projector. Any other color may indicate a sleep state or hardware error.
  5. Switch to a different source on the control panel, then switch back to your desired source.
  6. Verify that all video cables are connected securely.
  7. If using a laptop, use Function + F4 or Windows + P to toggle display settings. Ensure Extend or Duplicate is selected.
