Question
How is the Course Management Control used in Blackboard?
Environment
Answer
The Course Management Control Panel allows instructors to make changes and modifications to a course, including the availability of the course to students. The Control Panel is located in the Course Menu, and it is only accessible to users with one of the following defined course roles:
- Instructor
- Teaching assistant (TA)
- Grader
- Course builder
- Administrator
The Control Panel is divided up into several different features. Each one is outlined below:
- Course Tools: Lists all of the tools that have been added to the course.
- Evaluation: This area provides links to course reports, the Early Warning System/Retention Center, and the Performance Dashboard. These tools can be used to track student progress and identify students who may be struggling.
- Grade Center: This area provides access to the Grade Center, where you can view student grades and assignments.
- Users and Groups: This area allows you to manage the users who are enrolled in the course.
- Customization: This area allows you to customize the appearance and settings of the course. You can change the course name, availability, and language pack, as well as the tools that are available to students.
- Packages and Utilities: This area provides tools for importing, exporting, and archiving courses. You can also use this area to check course links and move files to the Course Files or Content Collection.
