Resize Rows In Excel

Body

Information

Instead of manually altering the size of Microsoft Excel rows, you can use automated resizing features to ensure your data is visible.

Environment

  • Microsoft Excel

Process

  1. Open Microsoft Excel.
  2. Resize the column or row using one of the following two methods:
    • Auto-Fit Method (Double-Click): Double-click the boundary of the column header (e.g., between A and B) or the row header (e.g., between 1 and 2). The column or row will automatically adjust its width or height to fit the longest string of text.
    • Manual Drag Method: Place the mouse cursor directly over the line between two column headers.
A screenshot of the Excel header area with a red circle highlighting the boundary line between Column A and Column B.
The cursor will change to a double-sided horizontal arrow, indicating you can click and drag to resize.
