You can reduce the size of a document if the last page has just a small amount of text with a quick access tool to avoid printing an extra page.

Note: Before running this command, save your document. Word reduces the font size of each font used in the document in order to minimize it. By using Ctrl + Z, you may undo the command. However, after you save and shut the document, there is no simple method to restore the original font size.
- In the Quick Access toolbar at the top of the Word window, click Customize Quick Access Toolbar (the small down arrow) and
- Choose More Commands.
- Under Choose commands from, click All Commands.
- Click Shrink One Page to select it,
- Click the Add button.
- Click OK.
Once the button is available, just click it to shrink the text.
