Method 1: File Explorer
- Open File Explorer.
- Click This PC from the menu on the left.
- Locate the Windows (C:) drive.
- If the icon shows a lock symbol, BitLocker is active and your computer is encrypted.
- Note: The lock icon may appear "unlocked" while you are actively logged in and using the computer, but the presence of the icon indicates encryption is enabled.
Method 2: Control Panel
- Click the Start Menu.
- Type
Manage BitLocker.
- Select Manage BitLocker from the results.
- If the page states Windows (C:) BitLocker on, your machine is encrypted.
