Summary
Policies for whitelisting or global allowlisting, regarding why an email may be blocked or fail to send, especially when sending to a large number of people
Body
Question
Can we whitelist emails from a trusted domain?
Environment
Answer
Unfortunately, we do not create global Allowlists nor whitelist any domains. Allowlisting is done by individual users. We do not support mass mailings, marketing or other legitimate Spam on the domain.
Ways to avoid emails being blocked
- Messages should be under 3MB.
- Avoid sending attachments.
- Don't use misleading subject lines i.e Win $1,000.
- Use proper grammar and spelling.
- Send blind copy recipients.
- Do not use GRCC email address unless sending from that account (for instance jdoe@grcc.edu from mailchimp will fail sender policy).
Communications, Campus Police, and President's Office can send to all Staff and Students with a process they have if the message needs to be delivered without being flagged. If emails get blocked and flagged by Google as malicious and should not be, then a ticket can be submitted and IT Security can investigate further.
