How do I grant access to someone in my Google Calendar?

Answer

  1. On your computer, open Google Calendar (opens in a new window).
    • Note: You can't share calendars from the Google Calendar app.
  2. On the left, find the My calendars section. You might need to click it to expand it.
  3. Hover over the calendar you want to share, click More options
  4. Click Settings and sharing.
  5. Under Share with specific people, add the person or the email address of the person you want to share with.
  6. Under "Permissions," select Make changes and manage sharing, or Make Changes to events.
  7. Click Send.

If sharing to a department Google group

  • You can share a calendar with an entire group of people by adding the Google group in step 5 above. There are some things to note:
    • When an individual is added to the Google group, it will not populate their calendars automatically. You must share the URL with that individual.
      • Under Settings and sharing (step 4 above) click Get sharable link
Danger: Warning: If you give full Make changes and manage sharing access to a shared calendar, they will have the ability to delete the calendar. If a calendar is deleted, it cannot be recovered.
