Configure the Gmail inbox to view tabs for the message categories of primary, social, promotions, updates, and forums.

Gmail offers several different views to fit your needs, including: Important, Unread, Starred, Priority, Tabbed, or Multiple inboxes.

Steps to configure your inbox view:

1. Log into Gmail (opens in a new window).
2. Click the Settings icon (represented by a gear) in the top right corner.
3. In the Quick Settings sidebar, scroll down to the Inbox Type section.
4. Select from the following options:
   • Default
   • Important first
   • Unread first
   • Starred first
   • Priority Inbox
   • Multiple Inboxes
